Fiddler Html Inspector crash

The last one is not working for and When I open Fiddler, it throws an error:

Could not load file or assembly “System.Windows.Forms.DataVisualization, Version=3.5.0.0….

if you have Installed Fiddler 2.3.4.4 beta. then Installed HTML inspector. it will end up getting error regarding System.Windows.Forms.DataVisualization.dll

It cannot be simply copied to windows/assembly. Apparently it has to be registered.

Once you installed MSChart for the net framework, things will work fine.

Perhaps the issue is not with the installer for HTML inspector, but that the requirement for MSChart should be a must before download.

SharePoint 2010 Calendar hovers and add new button

When you hover over a day in the SharePoint calendar the “add new” link comes up. This isn’t working “exactly” right. The reason is, if you scroll down on the page and then hover over a calendar item, the “add new” link shows up in the wrong calendar day. It works perfectly fine if you don’t have to scroll down (the issue only happens when you scroll).

setting up windows authentication/active directory with multi tenancy

Having different OUs per tenant for example let’s say I have an OU called Customers, and within that I have an OU for each of my tenants (Microsoft, Oracle and Apple). Each individual customer OU contains a tenant admin user and then some regular users; thus it is isolated and secured. Here is some references.

SharePoint 2010 claims based and mixed authentication

The problem:

Some line of business portals has an issue with multiple authentication techniques because part of the authentication is done through LDAP or any other type of authentication techniques and the other part is done against AD.

The solution:

SharePoint 2010 security is the answer for this because SharePoint 2010 changes authentication in the following areas:

– Uses classic mode and claims based authentication

– Classic mode is SharePoint 2007 style legacy mode

– Claims-based authentication is the new security model

What are the benefits?

– Claims decouples SharePoint from the authentication provider

– Allows SharePoint to support multiple authentication providers per URL

– Identities can be passed without Kerberos delegation

– Allows federation between organizations

– ACLs can be configured with DLs, Audiences and OUs

Claims-Based Terminology

• Identity: security principal used to configure the security policy

• Claim (Assertion): attribute of an identity (such as Login Name, AD Group, etc.)

• Issuer: trusted party that creates claims

• Security Token: serialized set of claims (assertions) about an authenticated user.

• Issuing Authority: issues security tokens knowing claims desired by target application (AD, ASP.NET, LiveID, etc.)

• Security Token Service (STS): builds, signs and issues security tokens

• Relying Party: application that makes authorization decisions based on claims

Multi Authentication: When to Use It:

• Same experience for different class of users

• Single URL instead of doing 2 urls like we used to do in MOSS 2007

• Same experience for same users no matter where they access content from

• Outlook Web Access

• Preferred choice for cross company collaboration solutions

and for more info about the ViewFormPagesLockDown feature find the link below

SharePoint URL Quick List

The following is a list of SharePoint URLs to get to commonly used administrative functions on a SharePoint site. The majority of the URLs require administrator permissions on the site and a few require administrator permissions on the SharePoint server. This is a quick list for speedy reference as compared to tracking down links through the admin screens.

How to Protect Sensitive Data with SSL and TLS

Expert Eguide: How to Protect Sensitive Data with SSL and TLS http://go.techtarget.com/r/6061595/8215039
Volumes of traffic flow freely across the internet everyday, andunless it's protected, it is in the open for anyone to access.E-commerce demands an increasing exchange of highly sensitiveinformation, from credit card numbers to financial data, safelyacross the public network. Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and TransportLayer Security (TLS) secure Internet traffic in an encrypted tunnel, ensuring that it is seen only when it arrives at its destination, using digital certificates to guarantee that a Web site is what itpurports to be.
Read this E-Guide explains the differences between SSL and TLS andhow they work, and offer some important points to keep in mind whenimplementing them in your organization.

Anonymous Search Results

there is one page that is absolutely necessary for everyone to access: osssearchresults.aspx. This page presents the list of search results.

By default, viewing this page requires a user to be authenticated to the server. This can create a problem when your site definition includes the basic search control as it will attempt to render all search results on this page with Anonymous access.

locate the following text at the top of the osssearchresults.aspx (inside the < % @ Page ... /> declaration) and remove it:Inherits="Microsoft.SharePoint.WebControls.LayoutsPageBase"This setting determines the inheritance of the page from the generic application page base class; however, it is not required for the page to function. Anonymous uers will be able to view the page without having to login and search results will continue to be security trimmed so users without proper permissions will be unable to view restricted items.

this is from The SharingPoint it works fine and here you are the link below.

Anonymous impersonation for FBA portals in SharePoint

We all get used to grant IUSER_computername any access we need as IUSER is the internet users that all anonymous user are impersonating when they try to access any page in your portal, and it works for only windows authentication. To do the same thing but with forms based authentication you need to
1- Store or register your IUSER for example guest to your membership repository.2- Grant that guest any access rights you want inside or outside SharePoint.3- Write some code to make all unauthorized users impersonate that guest inside the portal 'Global.asax'. which is protected void Application_AuthenticateRequest(Object sender, EventArgs e) { string cookieName = FormsAuthentication.FormsCookieName; HttpCookie authCookie = Context.Request.Cookies[cookieName]; if (authCookie == null) { FormsAuthentication.SetAuthCookie("guest", false); } }So all the anonymous users will have a guest access 'your created guest' on your portal
